Fireproof Hummus

Fireproof Hummus

This post spotlights Aha Pure Foods, a local soup company whose values really resonate with me.  Their mission to bring plant-based, organic ingredients with powerful medicinal properties into peoples’ diets is inspiring, and they have four delightful soup blends.  I can say first hand they are all delicious!  However, their fire-proof soup really packs a punch.  The blend stars turmeric and ginger, which both have powerful anti-inflammatory properties, not to mention tons of flavor.  A nutritious mix of vegetables and spices rounds out the revitalizing soup.

Of course, the blend is great on its own.  However, as someone who loves experimenting in the kitchen, I immediately started brainstorming what I could make using it.  With a pantry full of canned beans and a regular snacking regimen, I thought to whip up some hummus.  Wow, I’m glad I did!  The combination of spices and flavor in fire-proof seriously complement the chickpeas, tahini, and lemon juice found in traditional hummus recipes.

Plus, the hummus takes only five minutes to prepare.  With a teensy bit of can opening, measuring, and a few pulses in a food processor, you have a healthy snack that is the opposite of boring.  Full of plant based protein, healthy fats, natural medicinal properties, and zip from the spices, there is so much to love about it!  Without further ado, here is the recipe, which I will definitely be making again and again 🙂

Fireproof Hummus

As seen above, the recipe uses only 1/3 cup of soup, so you’ll have plenty left to enjoy in other ways – perhaps by making fireproof vegetable chili!  Be sure to check out the recipe (by me) on Aha Pure Food’s Food for Thought blog, along with other great recipes using their nourishing soup blends.
